Parking at Terwillegar Park is limited. If at all possible, please car pool with your teammate!
The standard race consists of 6 run segments and 5 swim segments totaling roughly 5.2km of swimming and 18.6km of running. The swims will take place in the North Saskatchewan River, and will all be conducted in a downriver direction. This is not to say that the swim should be taken lightly. Participants will need to be prepared for variable conditions in water depth and flow rates. Swim exits will be marked by large yellow tear drop flags attached to the shoreline. The run segments will take place on a variety of paved, unpaved, and single track paths within the Edmonton River Valley. The run course will be marked with flagging tape and directional signage to aid in course navigation.
The race course is an open course and participants should expect the general public to be out on the course. Terwillegar Park is an off leash park and care should be taken when approaching animals. There are 3 street crossings that occur during run segment 4, and one street crossing on segment 5. The crossings are at crosswalks and on quiet streets, but please take care and give traffic right of way.

The sprint race consists of 3 run segments and 2 swim segments totaling 1.0km of downriver swimming and 10.3km of running. Contravention of any of the rules below may result in penalty or disqualification
Participants must provide proof of identification at race registration
Participants will respect the other participants, the organisation, the spectators, and the general public.
SwimRun is a clean sport, and we do not accept the use of illegal substances as outlined by WADA.
Participants are obliged to help another racer who is in distress.
Participants must follow the race course as marked.
Teams must complete all segments while remaining within 10 meters of their partners at all times.
There is to be absolutely no littering at any point. Please discard any trash at the aid stations ONLY in the litter bins provided.
There will be 4 aid stations on course that will provide food, water, and electrolytes. To be environmentally responsible, there will be no cups provided for water or electrolytes, so please carry a water bottle / flask with you.
All equipment that participants start with MUST accompany them from start to finish.
All participants must have:
a whistle
solo athletes must carry an inflatable buoy
In water temperatures below 16 degrees Celcius, neoprene wetsuits will be REQUIRED. In water temperatures above 22 degrees Celcius, wetsuits will not be permitted.
The race will provide:
Race pinneys to be worn at all times
Swim caps to be worn during the swim portions
A map of the race course
Recommended Equipment
Goggles
Tether
Collapsible water bladder or cup
Participants may use any extra equipment they may choose, except
Flotation equipment that is bigger than 100cm x 60cm
Fins with a blade longer than 15cm
Results will be posted for each of the following categories:
Women, Men, and Mixed 36-60 years (cumulative age)
Women, Men, and Mixed 60-79 years
Women, Men, and Mixed 80-99 years
Women, Men, and Mixed 100-119 years
Women, Men, and Mixed 120+ years
Women and Men Solo
Awards will be given for the top finishers in each of Women's team, Men's team, Mixed team, Women's solo, and Men's solo.
Standard Team- $200 (After June 30th, $225)
Standard Solo- $150 (After June 30th, $175)
Sprint Team- $150 (After June 30th, $175)
Sprint Solo- $100 (After June 30th, $125)
Registration closes 11:30pm on July 30th, 2025
Refund/Deferral Policy: Refunds will be issued up to June 30th, 2025, minus a $10 processing fee. July 1st or later, a deferral to 2026 will be granted.
