STANDARD RAce course

The standard race consists of 6 run segments and 5 swim segments totaling roughly 6km of swimming and 17km of running. The swims will take place in the North Saskatchewan River, and will all be conducted in a downriver direction. This is not to say that the swim should be taken lightly. Participants will need to be prepared for variable conditions in water depth and flow rates. Swim exits will be marked by large yellow tear drop flags attached to the shoreline. The run segments will take place on a variety of paved, unpaved, and single track paths within the Edmonton River Valley. The run course will be marked with flagging tape and directional signage to aid in course navigation.

The race course is an open course and participants should expect the general public to be out on the course. Terwillegar Park is an off leash park and care should be taken when approaching animals. There are 3 street crossings that occur during run segment 4, and one street crossing on segment 5. The crossings are at crosswalks and on quiet streets, but please take care and give traffic right of way.
